As you can see, we have Giorgio celebrating his 18th birthday on 7 May. A big thank you for the cards and emails. Giorgio would have typed this himself but he's still working his way through the beautiful cake Margaret baked for him. Long may he reign over Casa Muneca.
It's been a few weeks since my last Blog, so I'll bring you up to date.
On Sunday 12 April I presented my Lock Down Blues Show as a tribute to Wilf Brown. Wilf was such an important part in the development of the show, I'm sure that he would be happy with my first attempts at flying solo. The show will continue to reflect our tastes in the genre which is blues music and I will do my best to do my best. I've had the three members of local blues/rock band Hangover Tuesday, on the show and it was great to hear about their wildly different musical backgrounds. Margaret and I went to see them at Emilios Bar in Llosa and they have come a long way since we saw their first gig three years ago.
On 14 April I attended a meeting of The Royal British Legion, at the El Cid restaurant in Benidolieg. I spoke about my career in HM Prison Service and my novel Lock-Down Blues. It seemed to go down well with plenty of interest in the novel.
I am now the proud owner of two new tattoos, I'll think they will be the last ones.
We are back at the Tonus gym in Vergel and working hard. The weather has been changeable, definitely not what we would expect at this time of the year. Last week, in particular, we went from scalding heat to pouring, chilly rain in a couple of days. Weird.
I'm now getting back into working on the sequel to Lock-Down Blues. The working title is Fresh Start. You will have read an excerpt, in Short Stories, a couple of months ago. There will be more in the coming months.
Speak soon.
