The crew on the left, The CatKnits, are now quite famous on The Costa Blanca.

We are enjoying beautiful weather and long may it continue. I'll be saying that until our next water bill arrives and then blood. ...!
We continue to enjoy our intercambio meetings. Pasquala is a lovely lady and it has been really interesting to hear about our village and how things have changed since Spain became a democracy. Pasquala's dad is the same age as me!

On Thursday 10th, the vet came out to us because Giorgio was really looking weak. He seemed to have a sore mouth. We struggled to administer the medication the vet gave us and hoped for the best. The following morning he was up and about and looking 100% better. Amazing. The vet came back, later that day and gave him a jab so that we didn't have to try and force him to take tablets. Since then he has gone from strength to strength. Thanks for your calls and emails, they mean so much to us.

Yours truly reached the ripe old age of 65 a few days ago. Thanks for the emails and cards loaded with wonderfully cruel and disrespectful remarks, I also received some lovely presents. Thanks. Margaret and I went to the Denia Marriott Hotel and enjoyed a superb Thai meal.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch with Lottie and the other students who attend the tap class. A special thanks to Lottie for sharing her interpretation of 'Campo Blues' with me. I look forward to hearing the piece, again, when it's finished.

Wilf and I continue to have a great time making music. We are both improving and enjoy the challenges each piece of music offers. You may hear us sometime.....

CBBlues continues to play a significant part in the local music scene. Karla works extremely hard promoting
all aspects of CBBlues, so give as much support as you are able. Check out www.CBBlues.com

Finally, a big thank you to David Stringer who also lives on Monte Solana. A nice man with a big heart.

A great month packed with stuff.

We were pleased to hear from Hilary and Steven, our neighbors when we lived in Ashington, Northumberland. They booked themselves a week in that cauldron of fun and sin, Benidorm, so we met up and spent a very enjoyable day around our pool. They are lovely people and Steven is particularly lovely because he gets free tickets to Newcastle United games at St James's Park. Something for the future, I'm thinking!

Giorgio has had a very up and down month. I suppose it is to be expected as he is now a venerable 17. He soldiers on and he is the centre of all we do.

We had some great meals out. Il Fratelli on Las Marinas and Tempanyaki, a Japanese place near Vergel, were particularly good, both in the company of Wilf and Sheila.
June was a very busy music month. After exchanging emails with Andrew Duhon, who is presently touring the US of A, six of us will be going to see him in August. For those of you who are not familiar with his music, check out 'The Moorings', a great CD. Much closer to home, Wilf and I have been practicing on slide and acoustic guitars. After some tuition from Tom Poole, a great exponent of blues music, we focused on our version of 'Little Red Rooster'. After more practice, we did a recording. Both Margaret and Sheila were pleasantly surprised. It has certainly given us the impetus to do more. Not quite Glastonbury yet...........

I paid a visit to see my favorite artist, Oscar, at Lottus Tattoo in Denia. More ink has been applied.

Towards the end of the month we had a lovely day around the pool in the company of Kryshia, My Brian and grandchildren Kate and Sophie. It's been a long time since I've been in the company of such well behaved youngsters.

Margaret and I have taken up an offer from the local cultural centre to take part in intercambio. We have been introduced to Pasquala, a lovely Spanish lady, and we spend time helping each other to improve our respective Spanish and English linguistic skills. As you would expect, mine needs the most work. We meet her on Monday's for an hour and it's proving to be very enjoyable.

As I'm typing this there is a pleasant breeze blowing through the villa. The sun is beating down and the pool is very inviting. Giorgio is supervising Margaret as she works on her latest quilting project and REM are providing the music. Life is pretty good at Casa Muneca.

More next time.
